COURSE OBJECTIVES The course objective is to introduce students to a whole systems approach to living a more self-reliant life while lowering their impact on the environment. The goal is to provide the opportunity to learn new skills, hone existing skills and to use these skills with confidence. While it is true that we are working to support families by encouraging the use practical skills, the heart of this course is really based on the concept of regenerative systems for entire communities. We truly want you to complete this course and use your knowledge and skills to help create the world you want to live in. Learn from our decades of hand-on and teaching experience.
DESCRIPTION This course offers the perfect learning environment in the safety, convenience of your own space and at your own pace. You will have access to a combination of video lectures, written information, photos and live sessions that are tailored to help the student build a well-rounded set of skills and understanding of whole systems to assist them on their journey to being more self-sufficient. Live sessions are only available during the live sessions and may not be available to view later. The course is organized to start on scheduled dates so that participants are all part of a group, starting at the same time.
We created this course as level two in a series, focused on regenerative living, homesteading (food production, food preservation, herbal medicine, small livestock and more subjects based on permaculture principles), intentional community, healthy living and practical ways to fight climate change. Homesteading Course Level One is required before participating in Level Two.
ORGANIZATION Course material has been organized to start with the basic information and to build upon it so that students have a solid foundation to build their knowledge upon.
